Intel Xeon Silver 4100 and 4200 processors — the value tier of Xeon Scalable, sized for dual-socket file, backup, and light virtualization servers.
Intel Xeon Silver 4100 (Skylake-SP) and 4200 (Cascade Lake-SP) series processors are the price-performance tier of the Xeon Scalable family — 8 to 16 cores, dual-socket support, and refurbished pricing that makes a capable server build very affordable. PC Server & Parts stocks tested pulls including the Intel Xeon Silver 4108, 4110, 4112, 4114, 4116, 4208 and 4215 — the Silver 4110 processor alone was the default CPU in countless Dell 14th-gen builds, which makes replacements and second-socket matches easy to justify. Every unit is tested in same-generation hardware before listing; if the model you need is not below, email us.
Complete the upgrade with DDR4 server memory and a heatsink for a newly added socket. The full range is in CPUs & Processors; for more cores, cache and memory bandwidth, step up to Intel Xeon Gold.
For file/print, backup targets, storage nodes, domain controllers and light-to-moderate virtualization, Silver is usually the right buy — the 4110, 4114 and 4208 hit a sweet spot of cores per dollar. CPU-bound databases, dense VM hosts and heavy compute are better served by Xeon Gold, which adds cores, cache and memory bandwidth.
Six-channel registered DDR4 ECC at up to 2400 MT/s on both the 4100 and 4200 series. Faster-rated DDR4-2666/2933 RDIMMs work fine — they simply run at 2400 — so shop the whole DDR4 server memory range without worrying about the sticker speed.
Loose processors follow our 90-day parts return policy: dead-on-arrival or non-conforming CPUs come back for a full refund, and PCSP covers return shipping on defective items. Every processor is tested in real hardware before listing.
